Store People Manager

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR IN YOU - QUALIFICATIONS: � Ability to influence / advise management on HR priorities � Experience in successfully managing challenging Associate relations issues � Working knowledge of basic employment, human rights and labour law � Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills � Able to work a flexible schedule including week-ends and evenings (i.e. Assistant Manager Schedule). May require some overnight shifts. � Human Resources (CHRP Designation) or related post-secondary education � Minimum 3 years in Store Management or Human Resources Management WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU - RESPONSIBILITIES: � Associate recruitment, staffing, selection and retention Partner with Store Manager to ensure the store has an adequate staffing level to meet seasonal customer service demands and wage budgets. � Ensure selection process is effective and meets company and legal standards. � Promote and strengthen our culture through the recruitment, retention and promotion of people who share our values. Conduct selection and exit interviews. � Associate orientation and training Deliver and ensure the successful execution of associate orientation, training and CBLs. � Associate Relations play an active role in responding to open door issues and assisting the management team in resolving problems. � Associate development and career planning assist management team in identifying and developing internal talent and creating useful, practical and realistic development plans. � Communication ensure open communication within the store through monitoring and maintaining the frequency and effectiveness of store and SWAS meetings, actively conducting CBWA and driving positive company and store communication to associates. � Provide HR / Wal-Mart policy advice and guidance to order to ensure legal and corporate compliance related to employment law and the application of People Division policies including Wal-Mart pay practices, performance management and evaluation. � Track and report HR metrics and results. � Role model the companys basic beliefs at all times. � Be an outstanding team player. � Act as a strategic business partner to the Store Management team. � Develop others by providing coaching and mentorship.
